The Very Inspiring Blogger Award
First, I would like to thank Caleb Pirtle for nominating me for the Very Inspiring Blogger Award.
Its purpose is both simple and important. It was designed to introduce authors to readers and to other writers who are producing some of the finest blogs on the Web today. In fact, you should check out the work of Caleb Pirtle at http://venturegalleries.com. Read a few of his blogs. It will be worth your time. That’s a guarantee from me to you.
Now, in fulfilling my requirement as a nominee for this blogger award, here are seven facts about me that many people do not know.
- I used to be a night person. I believed I did my best work after 10 p.m.. By midnight I was in full swing. However, nowadays, I’m nodding off well before midnight.
- I wanted to write since high school when I had a great English teacher. Maybe even before that as my grandfather was a newspaper man and syndicated columnist. But after a degree in English, I took a 40 year detour through mathematics. Some of us have trouble staying icecreamon the right road.
- I have two homes. One is in the middle of a forest with no neighbors within a mile. The other is in the midst of a city that never sleeps (no, not New York), with neighbors only a few feet away, and music on all sides. I love both.
- We have lots of wild life in our forest. I enjoy watching the squirrels, raccoons, birds, and deer. If I get a chance, though, I’ll shoot th
e wild hogs.
- My favorite of any meal is dessert. In fact, I don’t need the meal. Just serve the dessert.
- I must watch two news programs every day. Every day – unless I am out of the U.S. and then, I don’t even think about news programs.
- My grandfather, well known for his writing, used to say he wrote better when he was hungry. I think I write best with a bowl of ice cream sitting beside my computer.
Of course, besides blogging here and there, I also write books. Mostly, they are mystery and suspense books, but occasionally they are books for writers. Take a look on my website to see what I’m up to. My Fr. Frank Mystery Cleansed by Fire just released last week on audio from Audible. So, now, it’s in paperback, e-publication and audio editions. That was exciting. The narrator is Jonathan Mumm, an Emmy Winning TV journalist.

I enjoyed learning about you (I’m one of Caleb’s nominees and haven’t gotten around to it yet…) Great idea about the ice-cream, but doesn’t it cool you down too much? I need something hot to write, LOL!
Thanks for stopping by, Claude. I live in Texas, so we are always hot here, and usually trying to cool down.
I know what you mean about nodding off. And ice cream can be inspiring. Enjoyed learning about a few of your secrets, Jim.
Thanks, John. And believe it or not, I’m having ice cream as I write this.
Maybe in the dinning room or the living room. But by the computer – ice-cream.
Never mind the ice cream. Where’s the wine?
